The Seventeen Year Itch
Slacker were formed in Liverpool in the late 90's and earned notoriety with their raucous and well attended gigs in Merseyside and the North West of England. They split up in 2002 after a key member moved to Seattle, and that appeared to be the end of the Slacker story.
Fast forward 16 years: a chance meeting online in March ‘18 sparked a conversation that quickly turned to the old days and Slacker.
They all missed making music and wanted to make their mark. Having the small detail of the Atlantic ocean and a whole continent between them wasn’t a good enough reason not to do this, so with a new lease of life, songs old and new, and a band scattered in three different countries, they took on the task of writing and recording in a distributed fashion.
With Home - Volume 1 and Volume 2 now released, Slacker have finally scratched their 17 year itch, and are looking forward to what’s next!
